Language Impact's Language Learning MP3 Hub
The article "MP3 Files Will
Revolutionize Your Language Learning" by Reid Wilson, which
first appeared in Language Learning #22, gives a broad overview of the great
potential of creating, using, and sharing MP3 files in language
learning.
Once you've read it, the following articles will add some details and
answer some questions:
As we find and are sent MP3 files in different languages we'll include
them here. Currently we have MP3 files available in Jordanian colloquial
Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic and plan to include many more of these in
the future. We also have sample MP3s from Italian, Spanish, English, and
Lebanese Colloquial Arabic. Send us ones you make an we'll include those
too.
Note: All of our MP3 files are saved at 32 Kbps, 16,000 Hz, 16-bit, stereo
using Cool Edit 2000's high quality
setting. Click here to read about how we name our MP3
files.

We are on the hunt for such sites! If you know of any, please e-mail
us and tell us about them.
has free downloadable MP3 files in 85 different languages. Many if not
all of the languages have two separate MP3 files that can be downloaded,
the first one containing about 75 minutes of text from the Bible. One
nice thing about these files is that you can download the same thing in
two different languages, your mother tongue (e.g., English) and the one
you are learning (e.g., Portuguese). This way you can listen to your
best language first which should help you understand the second language
better when you listen to it. In addition, the site has the entire
Albanian New Testament available as downloadable MP3 files.
- eViews at http://www.eviews.net/
is for teachers and students of English looking for advanced level
comprehension and listening exercises with lesson plans. Easy access to
different English accents in the Library. In MP3 and Real Audio formats.
